It's with great sadness I post the finality to the 2011 Tampa Tour season. Since I’ve been known to talk more than my fair share of smack I decided to let the captain for the Blue team write the actual piece to be posted. With that said here you go:

Congratulations to the Blue team for a 13-7 blow-out!!!  Although fairly close following Day 1, the second day proved to be an insurmountable challenge for the Red team. The scores after day 1 matches were Blue team 6 and Red team 4. Day 2 began with Adam and Jason completing a 4 point sweep for the Blue team...Great job guys!!  Blue brought home 7 of the 10 available points on Day 2 and one match came down to the final hole as the Red team captain Troy managed to hold off a 5 stroke swing where Matt fell just short of a remarkable comeback on 18.  Oh yes, the pairings seem to bring the pressure as some were matched High vs Low and others practically heads up.  As you looked around the course you could see the body language spoke volumes.  On the course the Red team was simply no match. However, they proved beyond any doubt, they came this weekend to have a good time!!  A few Blue team members were up to the challenge but the Red team clearly took the award for the most spirited...at least they were certainly well hydrated!  There was plenty of entertainment throughout the weekend no doubt. Even the simplest decisions, such as where to eat, spawned lengthy debates.  In the end all of carefully calculated plans did not work out for the Red team as it was the Blue team's strategy that brought home the prize!

The Tampa Cup once again has proven to be a success!  While there were a few challenges with the course conditions everyone did a great job of staying positive and keeping up with the spirit of the event.  We would like to THANK everyone for coming out and making this a memorable competition...see you all next season!
